Exclusive Interview with Kendra & The Bunnies

Celebrity Justice, Fashion, Lifestyle, Music

Hi Kendra! Thank you for speaking with me today!

Thank you so much for inviting me to interview!

You recently released an EP, ‘of Summer’! Will you tell us about that?

I’d love to! I recorded “of Summer” in Nashville at Ten7Teen Studios. It was such a powerful experience to be in Nash for the first time recording an EP of mainstream country pop songs. I really stretched myself on this project to be bold and strong in the pursuit of reaching a vaster audience. There are four songs on “of Summer”, and they all play so well together. I’d say the song “Passion Roulette” is a real stand-out hit. In-fact, I even had a vision about this song and music video in 2015.

What inspired you to make this project a more pop-country sound?

This project was most inspired by my intention to reach more and more people. On top of that intention, I am very influenced by traditional blues rock ‘n roll, classic rock, and traditional folk storytelling, and I think “of Summer” really encapsulates that. I also always like to bring new realms of artistry into my craft, so I can keep expanding as a writer, singer, and visionary. This was a new sound for me, pop-country.

Who are some artists who you have been listening to a lot lately?

John Mayer, Dorian Electra, Traffic, Heart, Chopin, and Nicki Minaj. Love Mayer’s new album “Sob Rock”… It made me sob, so job well-done.

If there were no roadblocks between you and your dream project, what would that project be?

My dream project with no budget restrictions would be an immersive concert experience with festival vibes that travels around the country.

I have actually thought out most of the details already, and as Stevie Nicks says, “I keep my visions to myself.” *wink*

What do you do when you have writer’s block or a creative block? Any go-to ways to shake yourself out of it?

I love to go for walks to go get coffee or head to the bookstore down the road. It’s always so calming to see other people out and about and remember that I am a human being, as well as a superstar! Additionally, I always remember that the words I seek to write are right there on the cusp on my next thought.

What do you hope to see in the music world as the industry continues to evolve?

I am going to play my part in continuing to focus on creating and maintaining an inclusive and diverse atmosphere in the music industry. We can truly make change, when we communicate with one another respectfully and clearly.

Any upcoming projects you want us to know about?

I would love to invite you to my next two FULL BAND shows in the Los Angeles area!

August 18, Thursday at The Viper Room @ 9:15 pm

October 2, Saturday at The Mint @ 9:30 pm

I have already written my next project too, by the way, details TBA, but I believe I am going to record these tracks at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco.

Please tell everyone where they can keep up with you and your music!
