From everything I’ve read and heard regarding Mack Perry, the brains behind “Agony In The Garden”, he seems a gentle and positive man. His songs have facets of light and love and deep meanings not often apparent at first glance. Such is his newest release “Magnum Opus”, which if you look deep unlocks the secret of life in a manner of speaking.
Mack Perry is a visionary and a modern day profit. The multi-instrumentalist guides his philosophies to his lyrics and music. He cares about humanity and yearns to leave a legacy through his music. In an interview he quoted regarding the new release “never curse the darkness, light candles eternal. A lone flame shines more brightly than the sun at midday.” When asked what inspired “Magnum Opus” he said, “ I was just thinking about life on the whole and what it would mean to describe your life to someone else or better yet the legacy we leave for those who walk after us. There is no reason for us to go silently into that good night.”
Instead of living in a landscape of despair Mack Perry lives by the poetry that life doesn’t give us purpose but rather we give life purpose. We all have love stories and we all have life stories….Mack puts his to music. “We build our legacy piece by piece, and maybe the whole world will remember you or maybe just a couple of people, but you do what you can to make sure you’re still around after you’re gone”…..David Lowery
