It was a sweet ad for most people that showed people giving gifts of jewelry to loved ones, but some conservative Christians are outraged that a lesbian couple appeared in the ad.
“Unfortunately, Pandora also blatantly throws homosexuality in the viewer’s face with the lesbian couple’s intimate embrace,” the website for One Million Moms (OMM) says. “Scripture repeatedly states that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful behavior.”

This is about more than defamation; it’s about standing up to our bullies and saying enough is enough.
The ad shows various groups of people giving each other jewelry as gifts – including some friends, a mother and a daughter, straight parents and their daughter, and two Black women who are a couple – as a cover of Florence + The Machine’s “You’ve Got the Love” plays in the background. The lesbian couple looks at each other, hugs, and then kisses briefly as the camera pans out.

For OMM, that was too much sapphic love for television. The group even accused Pandora of “flaunt[ing] an alternative lifestyle” – and they made a petition that they claim 13,552 people have signed so far.
“I am not buying into your social agenda that pushes the LGBTQ lifestyle,” the petition states. “Your commercial featuring a lesbian couple offends me, and it also offends many other conservative consumers. I disagree with the LGBTQ agenda you are forcing on families and children. Airing these advertisements during prime time, when children are likely to be watching television, crosses a line that Pandora should have never crossed.”
The petition says that the signers will not “support” Pandora but doesn’t say that they will be boycotting the brand.
