Kitty Liv, best known as one-third of the family trio Kitty, Daisy And Lewis, has shared ‘Nothing On My Mind (But You Babe)’ – the latest single from her upcoming solo album. Watch it exclusively on NME below.

Released today (June 13), the track is the latest to arrive ahead of Liv’s upcoming debut solo album, ‘Easy Tiger’. It follows on from previous singles ‘Neck On The Line’, ‘Keep Your Head Up High’, ‘The Sun And The Rain’ and ‘Sweet Dreams’.

It marks one of the more jubilant and upbeat songs on the forthcoming LP, and sees the singer-songwriter explore the feeling of being head-over-heels in love with someone, while simultaneously being worried about the thought of them leaving.

I want you only, just save me from lonely/ ‘cause I felt this right from the start/ Do what you must and I put all my trust in that you won’t go breaking my heart,” she sings in the opening lines.

Initially written on the piano, the finished result sees Kitty Liv bring in inspiration from funk and hip-hop, as the song incorporates a full drum groove and a choppy guitar rhythm. It also comes alongside a Jack Pell-directed music video, which sees Liv performing on various instruments against a mixed-media style backdrop.

Check it out below.

“This is one of those songs that was wildly funky from the get-go. A true pocket rocket. It’s one piece of the puzzle in this album that reflects my personality; wanting to have a good time and rock out whilst being totally honest and sincere about both my worries and my desires,” she said of the new track.

“The new video is a lot of fun and I think it really reflects the upbeat nature of the song. Fun fact: I wanted to add another guitar part over the end section but we’d run out of channels on our tape machine, so I had to record it live during the mix down – so that guitar part only exists on the main mix and nowhere else!”

The song is set to feature on the aforementioned upcoming debut solo album, ‘Easy Tiger’, which is set for release on July 26 via Sunday Best. Pre-order it here.

While the singer is best known for her work with the family trio Kitty, Daisy And Lewis, she has been working on the new album for the past five years. She began the writing process back in 2019, and the making of the record also coincided with the beginning, middle and difficult end of the biggest long-term relationship of her adult life.

Co-produced with her older brother Lewis Durham, the album looks to push the boundaries of pop music, and document themes of love, loss and keeping your head up high. Find the album artwork and tracklist below.
