Like every other season, some shows stole the show, leaving numerous fans clinging to each episode every week. For instance, Kaiju No.8 and Wind Breaker ignited excitement within fans since their exception. This is accompanied by some underrated anime series.

Some shows could not compete with such fantastic titles, drifting into obscurity. However, it was not because of a lack of storyline; many of these shows had exciting plots but with limited viewership, earning them the title of “underrated shows.” With that said, this article looks at some of the most underrated anime shows of Spring 2024.

Rather than an underrated anime, the correct word to describe Yatagarasu would be a hidden gem. The anime has everything you would want in a good anime, from an exciting storyline to lovable characters. However, many fans did not give the anime a chance due to the slow start.

The series takes place in an alternate world where humans can turn into crows. It follows the life of Yukiya, a boy chosen to serve the prince. The anime was initially compared to The Apothecary Diaries, but the former has a different initial pace. It offers a fresh take on the political drama genre and deserves much more attention than it is currently getting.

Although the anime attracted several fans during its debut, the general public dropped it, believing it to be too slow compared to the other titles. The anime follows Miwa and Yukari as they hunt for a skilled individual to run the counter bar at the famous Hotel Cardinal. The chairman of the hotel’s sole requirement is that the person must be able to craft the Glass of God.

One day, he encounters Ryuu Sasakura, a humble bartender who always puts a smile on the hearts of his customers. He asks Ryuu to work with him. However, convincing the bartender is anything but easy.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night

Doga Kobo’s Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night is among the most underrated anime shows of Spring 2024. The anime follows Mahiru, a talented artist who gives up on her dreams because her classmates ridicule her.

Years later, she meets Kano, a former idol who asks her to design the mascot for her new project. Mahiru then enlists the help of her friend Kiui Watase and teams up with Mei. Together, the ladies hope to revolutionize music and turn Jellee into a global phenomenon. The anime has been praised for its references to contemporary pop culture.

The Fable

The Fable has gone under the radar because the anime receives fewer promotions than other shows. The anime follows Fable, an assassin known for finishing his target in six seconds. He is asked to lay low with his partner in Osaka. He is warned not to kill anyone, or they both lose their lives.

However, this is easier said than done when he is constantly put in life-or-death situations. The anime is an exciting action comedy that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Train to the End of the World

Train to the End of the World is a riveting post-apocalyptic anime that should be anything but underrated. Following the introduction of 7G, which offered a change in Japan but brought nothing but chaos. The adults aged 21 or above were turned into animals, and only a few human settlements were left standing due to the terraforming it caused.

The anime follows Shizuru Chikura, a high school student searching for her friend, Youka. She discovers she has been seen in Ikeburo and plans to go there. She uses the old abandoned train in town and travels alongside her friends to find Youka.
