The Linda Lindas have announced their sophomore album ‘No Obligation’, and have shared a new single ‘All In My Head’ – check it out below.

Yesterday (July 16), the Los Angeles rock band took to social media to announce ‘No Obligation’, which is due to arrive on October 11 via Epitaph Records. It is now available for pre-order on vinyl and other physical formats, and is also available for pre-saving on digital streaming platforms.

Besides announcing the album, the group have also shared the first single from the upcoming record, the punchy ‘All In My Head’. In a statement obtained by OurCulture, the band’s Lucia de la Garza said of the new song: “It has the most indie vibes we’ve leaned into so far because it was written on an acoustic guitar. Recording it was really fun, full of lots of dancing in the studio. I wrote ‘All In My Head,’ from the perspective of a book character, which kinda brought us out of our comfort zone.”

According to de la Garza, the song was inspired by Ottessa Moshfegh’s My Year of Rest and Relaxation, which she read on tour last year: “It felt like a break from reality, which we don’t usually find ourselves writing about.”

Last week (July 13), the Linda Lindas supported the Rolling Stones at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for the latter’s ‘Hackney Diamonds’ tour. Between July 29 and September 28, the Linda Lindas will perform with Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid throughout North America. During that stretch, the band will also perform a number of their own shows. You can find tickets to their upcoming shows here.

The Linda Lindas’ 2022 debut album ‘Growing Up’ scored a four-star review, with Mia Hughes writing for NME: “The album’s finest moment is its title track, where, over crunchy Paramore-esque guitars, Lucia weaves a moving narrative of camaraderie and a determination to enjoy this turbulent time in life… What The Linda Lindas show us here could go a long way, even for those who think they’re done with growing up.”
