Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle, say they are open to the idea of having a thrid child!
During a recent appearance on The Viall Files podcast, the Claim to Fame host, 36, opened up about the potential for adding another little Jonas to their brood — the pair are already parents to Alena, 10, and Valentina, 7 — as well as the recent health struggles Danielle, 37, has been facing.
“If it’s God’s will, we’ll see,” Kevin told host and former Bachelor lead, Nick Viall. “It’s like, we took some health time for my wife. She has Lyme disease, so she really wanted to get that right. She’s kind of only coming out of it now, in a good way, which is wonderful.”
Kevin continued, “Like all things, it just takes time and figuring out your life. But definitely not ruling it out.”
Hilariously, the dad of two — who met Danielle in May 2007 on a trip to the Bahamas — added that if they do decide to have a third baby, it would be almost like completely starting over as Alena and Valentina are now mini grown-ups.
“My oldest daughter came downstairs this morning and she had a cold ice roller on her face while she made herself breakfast. Like, she’s 10,” Kevin said. “She came down dressed, made herself breakfast and was getting ready for camp and rolling her face, like, my life is amazing right now.”
He added, “Do I want to be changing diapers? Maybe not, but at the same time, I love babies and I love having kids, so why not? Let’s go.”
Earlier this month, Kevin and Danielle returned to the place where they met and brought their two daughters with this time. “A much needed family vacation 😎☀️🏖️,” Kevin captioned an adorable post from the tropical getaway with his wife and daughters.
Should Kevin and Danielle try for baby No. 3, it could be the first “Jonas Brother” of the new generation as Joe, Kevin and Nick all are girl dads.
Nick Jonas and his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, share one daughter, Malti Marie, 2, while Joe Jonas and his estranged wife, Sophie Turner, share daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2.The fourth JoBro, Frankie — who co-hosts ABC’s Claim to Fame with Kevin — does not have any kids.
So how do Kevin’s kids feel about potentially adding another kiddo to the family? Well, it’s a mixed bag, Kevin says.
“[Alena] wants to have another kid. Our second [Valentina] does not,” he said, adding that Valentina is not comfortable sharing the spotlight with a new sister or brother. “Our second is our little rock star [and] she’s like, ‘No way. No babies.'”
In 2022, while promoting Claim to Fame season 1 with Frankie, Kevin spoke with ET and talked about which of his brothers will be the most protective of their kids as they grow up. Kevin — who has had a few years of a head start on his brothers — said he has that one on lock.
“I can’t really speak for them, I’m sure they’re going to be however they’re going to be with their daughters, but I can say for myself, I’m going to be protective,” said Kevin. “But I also know I’m going to have to let them go.”
He added, “It’s going to be tough…I was at a birthday party and Valentina let go of my hand and grabbed the hand of a friend and I died a little inside.”
