Gossip & Rumors

Halle Berry made headlines last month when news broke that she decided to exit Ryan Murphy’s forthcoming Hulu legal drama, All’s Fair.

Berry walked the red carpet at the premiere of her new Netflix comedy spy caper The Union, and she spoke with ET’s Cassie DiLaura about her surprising departure from Murphy’s hotly anticipated series — which was also set to star Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close.

“You know, things happen for a reason,” Berry said, when asked about her exit. “[But] I would have loved to have been there with those ladies, and I know it’s gonna be great.”

“[It’s] Ryan Murphy! I mean, you know, duh,” Berry continued, adding, “but next time!”

All’s Fair has been described as a sexy legal drama that follows Kardashian as a top Los Angeles divorce lawyer at an all-female law firm. Details regarding the nature of what Berry’s role would have been have not yet been released. She was also set to serve as an executive producer on the series.

Berry walked the carpet on Monday alongside her co-star, Mark Wahlberg, and she showed off her fit physique in a lacey, semi-sheer black ensemble.

The outing comes just two days ahead of her birthday on Aug. 14, and Berry gleefully marveled, “58 never felt better… I feel great!”

When asked who was able to pick up the stunt work needed for their fun spy thriller, Berry teased, “Imma go with me!”

“I was like, ‘Man, I’m older than you! Come on!'” Berry joked. “No, no, he did a great job.”

In the film, Wahlberg stars as Mike, a construction worker who gets wrapped up in a deadly world of spies and espionage when his high school sweetheart Roxanne (Berry) comes back into his life.

The Union premieres Aug. 16 on Netflix.
