Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) is back to solve yet another mystery! A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, based on Joanne Fluke’s novel series, will premiere October 4 on Hallmark Mystery.

In the new film, Hannah and Chad (Victor Webster) flirt with their own paths to solve the same murder while working to clear a colleague who is implicated in the crime. Meanwhile, Delores (Barbara Niven) gets her big break.

The sneak peek gives a glimpse at the mystery ahead. Hannah and Chad’s chemistry continues to get even better as they work together once again. “You know you really are good at this. Look what you’ve built here, all while solving the occasional murder,” Chad says while making a pitstop at Hannah’s shop. Hannah quips, “Well, it does happen more often than you think.”

This marks the 10th Hannah Swensen movie. The first entry of the franchise, Murder, She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery, premiered all the way back in 2015.

The first eight Hannah Swensen movies starred Cameron Mathison alongside Sweeney. Mathison played Mike, Hannah’s love interest. When Mike left for FBI training at Quantico, that’s when Webster’s Chad stepped in. Chad made his debut in One Bad Apple, which aired earlier this year.

“Bringing Victor in and kind of building this role for him was the opportunity to mix things up and really bring Chad in as a completely different dynamic than what Hannah’s used to, what the audience is used to, and create a new chemistry between Hannah and Chad that hasn’t been there before,” Sweeney previously told TV Insider. “Also, just playing off Victor. He’s good in any role, but I think he has a really fun time in this playing a tough guy who keeps his feelings on the inside. That was sort of the idea in creating this character. He’s not humoring Hannah the way everyone else in town does.”
