Deadpool & Wolverine had a great run at the box office, and is now setting its sights on taking home some gold as well, with Marvel Studios ready to campaign the film for a variety of awards.

What will Deadpool & Wolverine be campaigning for?

According to a recent report from Variety, Disney is looking to push the recent hit comic book movie into contention at a variety of award shows. After earning more than $1.3 billion at the global box office, the movie will be submitted for consideration at the Golden Globes in the award’s comedy categories, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman also being submitted for the acting and supporting acting categories, respectively.

The report goes on to mention that Deadpool & Wolverine will also be submitted for consideration at pretty much every major award show, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and the Oscars. As far as the Oscars go, the film will also be campaigning to be included in the technical categories, such as production design, sound, and visual effects.

While this may sound surprising, this wouldn’t be the first time a Deadpool movie earned some major award nominations. In 2016, the original Deadpool snagged two Golden Globe nominations, including best motion picture (musical or comedy), as well as best actor (Reynolds).

Marvel Studios is also no stranger to award success as a whole, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe having won four Academy Awards among 27 nominations total throughout its history. Most recently, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design.
