Former US President Barack Obama has rapped along to the opening verse of Eminem‘s ‘Lose Yourself’ after being introduced by the rapper at Kamala Harris‘ Detroit rally – watch clips below.

During Kamala Harris’ rally, proud Detroit native Eminem took to the stage to voice his endorsement of Harris as the next President of the United States, before introducing former country leader Barack Obama for a speech.

Eminem walked out to his hit 2010 song, ‘Not Afraid’ and said to the Detroit audience: “I’m here tonight for a couple of important reasons. As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me. And going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it’s important to use your voice, so I’m encouraging everybody to get out and vote, please.

The rapper continued: “I also think that people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution, or what people will do if you make your opinion known. I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld. And here to tell you much more about that, President Barack Obama.”

Obama then walked onstage to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’, before giving the rapper a quick hug. Before diving into his speech, the former President took a moment to fanboy over the rapper, saying he was hoping Eminem would perform and then rapped the first verse of ‘Lose Yourself’ as the crowd cheered.

Eminem is now the latest high-profile musician to throw his support behind Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States.

Other prolific entertainment world figures such as Usher, Lizzo, Jon Bon JoviCharli XCX, Beyoncé, Megan Thee StallionP!nkBon Iver, Quavo, Neil YoungTaylor SwiftStevie Wonder and more have recently endorsed Harris.

Elsewhere, Joni Mitchell shared her thoughts on the upcoming US presidential elections and Trump at her recent Joni Jam concert in Los Angeles. Mitchell performed the political track ‘Dog Eat Dog’ for the first time since 1985 at the weekend. At one point a fan shouted an insult directed towards Trump, prompting Mitchell to shout: “Fuck Donald Trump”.

Dave Bautista recently roasted Trump too, taking aim at the presidential candidate’s masculinity saying he “wears more makeup than Dolly Parton.”
