Sabrina Carpenter has covered Olivia Newton-John‘s ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ while dressed as Sandy from Grease for Halloween – see clips of the performance below.

While Carpenter has covered ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ numerous times, her October 30 concert in Dallas marked the first time she’s dressed up as the late Newton-John for the song. Olivia Newton-John famously performed the song in Grease, where she portrayed Sandy Olsson.

For the pre-Halloween performance, Carpenter sported curls in her hair, a black leather jacket and Sandy’s iconic catsuit. You can see pictures of her costume below.

Footage of the cover has since made its way onto social media, complete with deafening screams and a singalong from the audience. Watch fan-shoot footage of Sabrina Carpenter covering ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ below.

Carpenter’s ongoing US tour dates come in celebration of her ‘Short N’ Sweet’ album, which NME rated four stars. “Her individuality occasionally feels a little diluted, the likes of ‘Good Graces’ and ‘Bed Chem’ moulded in Ariana Grande’s image,” it read. “For the most part, though, who Sabrina Carpenter is has never been clearer – and her long-awaited, hard-earned climb to pop’s summit should continue with ease.”

The singer also recently announced the UK and European leg, which will take place next year with former NME Cover star Rachel Chinouriri as a special guest. The shows kick off at 3Arena in Dublin on March 3, with further shows in Birmingham, London and Manchester – see all dates below and grab tickets here.
