Rep. Greene (R-GA) speaks on May 1, 2024.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is bragging that her views, which she says were once considered “radical extremist views,” are now part of the GOP’s “mainstream.”

Tucker Carlson called her “the most reviled person in the world” on his podcast when asking about her political trajectory, from someone who was excluded from committee assignments two years ago due to her violent social media postings to someone who now believes she has a chance at a Cabinet appointment in the coming administration.

“I get to listen to all these Republicans that voted to denounce me and kick me out of committees and talked bad about me and slandered me and distanced themselves from me… I get to listen to them and they very much sound like Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Greene told Carlson. “As a matter of fact, they say the same things that I say.”

She then claimed that she had gotten private apologies from Republican colleagues who once doubted her, saying that their constituents pushed them to be more like her.

“MTG’s ‘radical extremist views’ are now the mainstream Republican Party,” she wrote, sharing the video on X. “Mission accomplished.” She then included the sunglasses emoji.

Also this week, GOP strategist and podcaster Steve Bannon told Greene that he believes she should head the Department of Homeland Security.

“You’re such a fighter,” Bannon said Wednesday. “Now, is there truth to the rumor that you’re going to take over at DHS?”

She didn’t say no.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, Steve,” she replied. “We’re just thrilled to have President Trump back in the White House because everyone knows what that means.”

“We’re going to dismantle the deep state. We’re going to end the weaponized government. We’re going to pardon the J6ers. That’s extremely important,” she added. “And we are going to restore peace and prosperity back for the American people. And we’re going to end those foreign wars, and we’re going to end the climate change scam. Everything’s going to be restored. We’re so excited.”

Greene has spent years attacking the current secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, introducing a resolution to impeach him and accusing him of being behind an “invasion” of immigrants into the country.

If she were named the secretary of Homeland Security, Greene would also be in charge of the federal response to natural disasters. She believes that Democrats can control the weather and create hurricanes.

Moreover, she would be in charge of FEMA. She has complained about that agency helping transgender people.
