Lizzo addresses her harassment case in Keke Palmer podcast

Lizzo recently opened up about the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her in August 2023 during an appearance on Keke Palmer’s Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast. The three former backup dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — accused the singer of sexual and racial harassment along with body-shaming and creating a toxic workplace.

In the interview, Lizzo expressed shock and pain over the unexpected lawsuit, noting how “blindsided” she felt when the dancers, who were no longer on the tour, filed their complaint. She expressed feeling hurt, especially since she had always valued the dancers, giving them opportunities and respecting them professionally. The singer said, “I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they’re trying, well, I don’t know what they’re trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it’s not.” (via Page Six)

Addressing the serious allegations, Lizzo denied claims of sexual harassment and weight-shaming. One of the most controversial claims involved Lizzo allegedly pressuring her dancers to engage with nude performers at a nightclub. Lizzo firmly denied this, stating that participation was never “mandatory” and that her invitation to them was a courtesy.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, including a second lawsuit filed by stylist Asha Daniels, Lizzo maintained that she “did nothing wrong.” She described the accusations as “silly” and “ridiculous” but emphasized that the sexual harassment claims were the most painful. Lizzo made it clear that she would continue to fight the allegations.
