The three former backup dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez — accused the singer of sexual and racial harassment along with body-shaming and creating a toxic workplace.
In the interview, Lizzo expressed shock and pain over the unexpected lawsuit, noting how “blindsided” she felt when the dancers, who were no longer on the tour, filed their complaint. She expressed feeling hurt, especially since she had always valued the dancers, giving them opportunities and respecting them professionally. The singer said, “I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they’re trying, well, I don’t know what they’re trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it’s not.” (via Page Six)
