That said, anything can happen on Jeopardy and Colleen was the only one to get the Final Jeopardy question correct yesterday, so it’s not over until it’s over. Kaitlin had the lead with $16,000 but lost $11,605 with her answer of “Joseph”. She ended up with $4,395, making her total $4,396 across both days. (She also earned an $15,000 prize for her effort.)

Final Jeopardy Answer for January 3

The correct answer for Final Jeopardy on January 3, 2025 is “Who is Jonah?”

The work the clue is referring to is Moby Dick, a novel written in 1851 by Herman Melville. Chapter 9 of the book is titled “The Sermon” and has Father Mapple preach a version of Psalm 18 or the story of Jonah and the whale. The “New England port city” in this instance is New Bedford in Massachusetts.

This clue will be tricky for those who have never read Moby Dick or don’t remember the particular prophet mentioned in this chapter, but two of the contestants still managed to get it.
