Halle Berry has mocked a fan who mistook her for singer Tyla in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The user shared a video of Tyla performing live, with the caption “fuck it up @halleberry” above it. The Oscar-winner then quote tweeted them with the comment: “Baby that’s Tyla.” The line is a reference to the “Baby, this is Keke Palmer” meme, where an X user mistook a photo of actor Keke Palmer for their deceased sister.

People replying to the post then remarked about the resemblance between the two stars, with one pointing out that Tyla’s hair in the clip was reminiscent of Berry’s character in the 2013 thriller The Call. The reply read: “Halle, it’s all about her hair.”

Others pointed out that Tyla has dressed as some of Berry’s most famous roles for Halloween, particularly the character of Miss Stone in The Flintstones and the superhero Storm in X-Men. “The resemblance is crazy,” said one user comparing the women side by side.

Tyla continues to go from strength to strength as an artist with the success of her self-titled debut album, which made NME’s best debut albums of 2024 as well as our best albums of the year list. She was recently added to the 2025 Governors Ball line-up alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler, The Creator and Hozier.

Halle Berry remains a film legend, having become the first woman of colour to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards for 2001’s Monster’s Ball, as well as being part of the James Bond, X-Men, and John Wick franchises.

Despite these accomplishments, she recently talked about how she doesn’t have the “luxury” as a Black woman “to just sit and field Oscar buzz movies”. She also looked back at her infamous 2004 flop, Catwoman, two decades after its release, responding to the critical panning of the film.
