Curtis calls Alexis to handle Stella’s insurance fraud
In his office, Curtis brings Alexis in to help with his aunt Stella’s problems. Stella argues that Curtis is overcomplicating a simple audit, but she ultimately agrees to let Alexis represent her. Then Stella admits she altered some paperwork and changed dates on insurance claims.
Alexis explains that this does count as insurance fraud. Stella defends herself, saying she only did it seven times to keep patients from going bankrupt. Curtis connects it back to Drew when Martin’s name comes up.
Maxie remains unconscious after her heart attack
At the hospital, Liz and Lucas monitor Maxie after her heart attack. Despite strong lab results showing no signs of rejection or organ failure, Maxie has yet to wake up. Lulu tries to stay strong, and Spinelli refuses to leave Maxie’s side. He takes her hand and promises that when she opens her eyes, he’ll finally propose. Meanwhile, Mac, Felicia, and Cody lean on each other as Anna steps in to reassure Felicia.
As the day closes, Lucas shares troubling news: an anomaly has appeared in Maxie’s blood. An unidentified enzyme is present, and doctors must now determine whether she was poisoned.
Drew targets Michael at the station
Sonny, Diane, and Michael voluntarily meet with Turner at the police station. While Michael worries about Willow and begs Diane to protect his family, Sonny confronts Turner about Drew’s vendetta. Turner acknowledges Michael did throw a punch but insists she will investigate fairly.
Drew storms in with Martin, demanding to see Michael in cuffs. Just then, Chase reveals that none of the nine witnesses from the restaurant recall Michael throwing a punch. Furious at the revelation, Drew accuses Chase of covering for Michael. Turner warns Drew that she won’t allow him to smear an officer’s name.
