Premiere Date, Hosts, and Special Guests Revealed
TV

The View‘s summer hiatus is almost over. Since Monday, July 28, the hit ABC daytime talk show has been airing encore episodes in its usual timeslot, but now, the end of the rerun cycle is almost here.

Key details about what’s ahead when The View returns for Season 29 are starting to come through, and we’re breaking down everything you need to know right here.

When is The View Season 29 premiere date?

ABC has not formally announced the premiere date for The View Season 29, but the ticketing agency for its studio audience has. According to 1iota, which provides access for live attendees of the broadcast, the show will return with new episodes starting on Monday, September 8.

The organization’s website also gives some insight as to who will appear on the show as special guests. On September 9, Emma Hemming Willis, wife of Bruce Willis, and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor are expected to appear. Then, the September 11 show lists actress America Ferrera as the featured guest in the morning production, with Michael Urie on the afternoon schedule (presumably, for a pre-taped show to air that Friday, September 12). For September 15’s show, actor and author Matthew McConaughey is on deck to appear, alongside former West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin. September 16’s listing has three guests: famed psychic medium John Edward and actors Marlon Wayans and Robin Wright. The afternoon taping on September 18 (again, likely to air next-day) is Lily James. Appearing on the September 23 show will be Priscilla Presley, and Shark Tank stars Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John will visit the show on September 24. For September 25, it’s actress Regina Hall who’s on deck, with Gloria Estefan in the afternoon (likely Friday) slot. After that, Tim Allen visits on September 29, and Glen Powell and Eli Manning on September 30.

Who will star in The View Season 29?

No changes to the current panel of cohosts have yet been announced by ABC. However, one source reported over the summer that there were talks about replacing Goldberg as moderator with Sunny Hostin. This report has not been confirmed, and the ticketing agency’s description of the new season includes Goldberg, Hostin, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro‘s names on it, indicating that all six will return to the panel this season.

Considering there have been repeated calls from Donald Trump for the show to be canceled, especially following CBS’s cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, some fans have been worried that the future of The View and certain members of the cast’s jobs might be in jeopardy. After all, even Behar herself has expressed concern about the show’s ability to survive the current political climate, and there were reports of the cohosts receiving pressure from the network brass to tone down anti-Trump rhetoric.

What episodes will air as reruns?

The following episodes will reair on ABC during The View‘s usual 11 a.m. ET timeslot:

August 25: The July 10 episode featuring Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.

August 26: The April 10 episode featuring Your Friends and Neighbors stars Olivia Munn and Amanda Peet, along with Warfare stars Kit Connor and Michael Gandolfini.

August 27: The July 17 episode with comedian Zarna Garg and Ladies Get Lit.

August 28: The April 3 episode featuring Laurence Fishburne and Audra McDonald.
