An out elected official from Crescenta Valley in Los Angeles has resigned after being identified as one of two men who allegedly urinated on the employee entrance of a popular LA gay bar before getting into a physical altercation with a member of the bar’s staff.

“Today, Councilmember Chris Kilpatrick tendered his resignation from the Crescenta Valley Town Council. This resignation was accepted effective immediately,” a brief statement posted to the Crescenta Valley Town Council’s Instagram Thursday read.

Kilpatrick’s resignation follows the Saturday, March 9, incident. According to Precinct management, the two men were patrons who somehow exited the bar with full cocktails in hand before rounding a corner into a vestibule off the street and into view of security cameras at the employee entrance.

Video posted on the bar’s Instagram page earlier this week shows what happened next.

The pair decided to “whip out their 🍤 and piss all over it together 💛,” Precinct management wrote in the post.

“When done,” Precinct added, “they rounded the corner where one of the managers spotted the drinks and tried to take them away; the big one reacted by physically assaulting him, throwing him to the ground.”

The “big one” was ID’d on Instagram almost instantly as Kilpatrick. RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Willam was one of the first commenters to tag Kilpatrick in a comment on Precinct’s post. The council member’s own Instagram account has since been deactivated.

“His IG blacked out faster than he did 😂,” another user noted.

This week, Kilpatrick lawyered up with his own version of events that night.

Referring to Precinct staff who confronted the councilman and his boyfriend when they tried to reenter the bar, his rep said in a statement, “The individuals were not uniformed. They did not identify themselves as staff or security personnel with Precinct bar. The first individual grabbed my client aggressively asking if he had been at Precinct Bar. My client instinctively pushed back in self defense.”

And then the plot twist:

“It was reasonable for him to believe that they were about to possibly be gay bashed by these 2 individuals.”

Jeremy Lucindo, general manager of Precinct, told KTLA News the bar’s Instagram post was meant only to “call out bad behavior.”

Precinct management were unaware Kilpatrick, who owns a construction business and has served on the town council since 2020, was an elected official, Lucindo said, adding that he’s been made aware that “they’ve had a history of kind of acting up like that.”
