Drake has shared footage of his flooded mansion, following torrential rain hitting Toronto in recent days.

The Grammy-winning rapper shared footage to his Instagram stories last night (July 16), showing brown rainwater flooding into his home – which he has dubbed ‘The Embassy’ – and damaging his possessions.

“This better be Espresso Martini,” he joked in the caption.

The flooding comes after heavy rains have hit the Canadian city in recent days, and flooded homes, highways and transport hubs, as well as causing power outages across Toronto.

As per Evening Standard, police and firefighters in the area were called out to help various locals who were stranded due to the severe weather, including 14 people who were left trapped on a highway.

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority also confirmed that over 4 inches of rain had fallen in pockets across the city, and rivers and streams should be considered dangerous. Mayor Olivia Chow also announced that around 109,000 residents were left without power because of the extreme weather conditions.

News that Drake’s mansion had flooded arrived just days after it was revealed that the rapper had allowed fans to take a virtual tour of the residence thanks to a new feature on his merch website.

Since his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage kicked off, drakerelated.com revamped its layout to incorporate an interactive virtual tour of ‘The Embassy’. Among the graphics depicting the Toronto star’s house, Easter eggs and links to buy Drake’s merch, including his new poetry book Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness, are hidden.

Fans were able to buy items lying around the mansion, such as a Lollapalooza Chile shirt, Drake’s Nike collaborative shoes NOCTA, and his book.

His home also made headlines earlier this year, when a man was arrested for attempting to break into the building, just a day after a shooting took place outside the residence.

According to numerous reports, an intruder was arrested and detained in Toronto on May 8 for allegedly attempting to gain access to Drake’s home in the area.

Less than a week afterwards, two more men were arrested for the attempted break-in. The second intruder was then taken to hospital after clashing with security guards, with injuries that were described as “serious but not life threatening”, and the third attempted to enter the Bridle Path property, with security managing to detain the man and escort him off the site (via TMZ).

Since then, DJ Akademiks has claimed that Drake has new music “on the way” amid his feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar.

His last full-length release was 2023 ‘For All The Dogs’, which was given a two-star review by NME. “In the hours shortly before the album dropped, Drake announced that he would take a break from music to focus on his health,” it read. “‘I probably won’t make music for a little bit,’ he told fans. ‘I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit.’ Hopefully he returns revitalised and renewed, because ‘For All The Dogs’ – his third solo LP in as many years – not only feels tiring, but sounds tired too.”
