Donald Trump’s mega-MAGA pick for vice president says anyone who doesn’t have children is disqualified from running the country; especially “childless cat ladies” like Vice President Kamala Harris — even though she has two stepchildren.
Vance made the provocative claim in an appearance on fired Fox host Tucker Carlson’s show on July 29, 2021, while Vance was running for one of Ohio’s U.S. Senate seats.

Buttigieg pointed out that Vance was vehemently opposed to Trump just a few years ago.
“We’re effectively run in this country via the Democrats, via the corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too,” the tech bro and Hillbilly Elegy author told Carlson.

“It’s just a basic fact. You have Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)], the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. How does that make any sense when we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t have a direct stake in it,” the pseudo-intellectual claimed.
Tell that to Harris’s two step-kids whom she helped raise with second gentleman Doug Emhoff since they were teenagers and call her “Momala.” Or go tell that to “cat lady” Buttigieg, who with his husband Chasten, has twin children.
Also, 34-year-old Ocasio-Cortez announced her engagement to web developer Riley Roberts in 2022, and she hasn’t indicated that she’s either miserable or plans to remain childless after she’s married.
Vance’s misogynistic and anti-LGBTQ+ self-pleasuring is just more evidence of Donald Trump’s hubris in picking the 39-year-old tech exec as his running mate. With just 18 months experience as an elected official, Vance’s unserious selection is only about doubling down on Trump’s MAGA appeal and is a slap in the face to women, who are already alienated by the onetime president’s — and now Vance’s — radical denial of their bodily autonomy.
Vance has three children with wife Usha Chilukuri, a progressive Democrat who could have been mistaken at the Republican National Convention for a political prisoner.
For the record, George Washington and four other U.S. presidents didn’t have kids of their own.
