Chris Evans Shares How His Dog Participates in His Workout Routine and When His Diet Consists of ‘Junk Food’
Gossip & Rumors

Puppy love! Chris Evans sat down with ET on July 31 for National Mutt Day and explained how his dog, Dodger, impacts his wellness regimen while celebrating his partnership with Jinx.

While fans are used to seeing the Captain America: The First Avenger star looking buff for action-packed roles, Evans admits he prioritizes his rescue pup’s nutrition over his own.

“If the film I’m working on requires a certain level of fitness, then the diet will reflect that, but otherwise, it’s junk food,” the actor, 43, shares.

Jinx

“[My diet] is probably not as good as what’s in Jinx!,” he explains of the dog kibble line, filled with high-quality proteins, superfoods, probiotics, and immunity-boosting vitamins and minerals.

But when it comes to workout routines, Evans and his pet are always on the same page.

“It’s a lot of love, and a lot of exercise. Dodger leads a very active lifestyle. … He is a big part of the cardio. You know, he loves going on big hikes and rollerblading. Even though he’s 10 years old, he hasn’t lost a step! I keep waiting for his battery to start to dwindle a bit, but our hikes are over an hour every day,” he notes.

Beyond (literally) keeping the Ghosted actor on his toes, Dodger also contributes to Evans’ overall happiness.

“My life is exponentially better with Dodger. He is an incredibly special dog, and I don’t think it’s possible to stay in a bad mood when he’s around,” he says.

“[Adopting him] was one of the most profound experiences I’ve ever had. It was incredibly kismet. I knew right away the second I saw him that he was coming home with me. Moving forward, I’ll only rescue dogs. That’s the new approach from now on,” Evans adds.

A portion of proceeds of Jinx products sold at Walmart during the month of August will benefit the USO Canine Program.
