Maggie Rogers performed a cover of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ for unsuspecting concert-goers at Adele‘s Munich residency last night. Check it out below.

Rogers is in Munich to open for Coldplay tonight (17 August) on their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour — which was today announced as the highest-grossing rock tour of all time.

Before taking to the stage with the British pop icons, she paid a visit to Adele’s ongoing Munich residency. The ‘Rolling In The Deep’ singer is currently midway through her 10-date stint at the purpose-built 80,000-capacity Messe München arena in Germany, which is hosting her first performances in mainland Europe since 2016.

The arena, coined ‘Adele World’, includes a post-show karaoke stage, where fans are encouraged to get up and perform covers of classic pop songs. Last night (August 16) Rogers took the opportunity to deliver her take on Bedingfield’s 2004 hit, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

The ‘Alaska’ singer shared a fan video on her Instagram story today, which included the caption: “@maggierogers closing @adele’s karaoke stage at midnight by performing ‘Unwritten’ while everyone is thinking she is just a random person from the crowd.”

Check out the footage below.

Rogers released her third studio album ‘Don’t Forget Me‘ earlier this year, which was met with a glowing four-star review from NME. The review praised the album’s title track as “a moment of vulnerability from Rogers that reveals her desire to be remembered with the same importance – and one that assures she will be.”

In other Adele news, the singer recently praised Chappell Roan, calling the rising singer “absolutely amazing”. “She is spectacular, and it turns out, she’s not just got one song,” she said. “She’s got, like, seven fucking brilliant songs.”

Adele has four dates left of her current Munich residency (August 23, 24, 30, 31). She recently revealed that she doesn’t have “any plans for new music, at all”, and will be taking a “big break” from music after these shows end.

She has since confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul live on stage. Earlier this month, Adele performed her 2008 single ‘Chasing Pavements’ for the first time in seven years. At another gig, she paused the set to stream the semi-final and final of the women’s 100m Olympic races.
