The Soulm8te cast continues to grow, with Deadline reporting that The Boys star Claudia Doumit has joined onto the upcoming film set in the M3GAN universe.

Doumit’s role in the upcoming movie is unknown, but she’ll star alongside the previously cast David Rysdahl and Lily Sullivan in the project. Rysdahl will play a man who acquires an Artificially Intelligent android (played by Sullivan) to help him cope with the loss of his wife.

Soulm8te is being directed by Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) from a script rewritten by her but originally from Rafael Jordan, based on a story from James Wan. Doumit is best known for her role as Victoria Neuman in the hit Prime Video series The Boys, but has had high-profile appearances in other projects, including Where’d You Go, Bernadette, Dude, and Dylan & Zoey.

What do we know about the M3GAN spin-off?

“In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, the man inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate,” reads the film’s logline.

Not too much is known about the upcoming movie, but it is being described as centering around the feel of “90s domestic thrillers” but with a technological twist. Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) will direct the film, which is tentatively scheduled to release on January 2, 2026.

Alongside directorial duties, Nolan also rewrote an original draft written by Rafael Jordan, while the story is being credited to James Wan, Ingrid Bisu, and Jordan.

After breaking out as a hit in 2023, a sequel to M3GAN, titled M3GAN 2.0, is currently in the works. That film will see stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprise their roles from the original movie and is scheduled to release on June 27, 2025.
