North Carolina’s Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, the Republican party’s anti-LGBTQ+ candidate for governor who spoke at this year’s Republican National Convention, reportedly made comments on a pornography website message board over a decade ago referring to himself as a “black Nazi,” describing himself as a “perv” for transgender porn, and expressing a desire to reinstate slavery, CNN has reported.

“I like watching tr**ny on girl porn! That’s f**king hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” Robinson allegedly wrote. “And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!” In another comment, he allegedly described secretly “peeping” on women in public gym showers as a 14-year-old.

Robinson reportedly made many “gratuitously sexual and lewd” comments on the Nude Africa website using the screenname “minisoldr,” a screenname he also reportedly used on other social media sites. His Nude Africa profile listed his full name as “mark robinson” and included a private email address he has used on other social media accounts, including ones that had pictures of his face, CNN reported.

CNN reported “only a small portion of Robinson’s comments on the website given their graphic nature,” the outlet wrote. Its report included screenshots of the comments and ones showing Robinson’s repeated use of the “minisoldr” screen name. Biographical details written by the profiles on various forums aligned with details from Robinson’s own life, including his age, years of marriage, residential area, military service, and his mother’s employment at a historically Black college, CNN wrote.

In one Nude Africa website comment thread, responding to a story about an intoxicated woman who claimed to have been raped by her taxi driver, Robinson allegedly wrote, “and the moral of this story….. Don’t f**k a white b**ch!”

In other comments about the dedication of a memorial to Black civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in Washington D.C.’s National Mall, Robinson allegedly wrote, “Get that f**king commie bastard off the National Mall! I’m not in the KKK. They don’t let blacks join. If I was in the KKK I would have called him Martin Lucifer Koon!”

In an October 2010 post, Robinson allegedly stated, seemingly unprompted, “I’m a Black Nazi!” Later that month, he wrote, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it (slavery) back. I would certainly buy a few.” In March 2012, he wrote, “I’d take [Nazi leader Adolf] Hitler over any of the s**t that’s in Washington right now!”

He also reportedly used anti-gay slurs in numerous online comments, CNN reported. In one forum filled with positive comments on a photo of two men kissing after one returned from military deployment, Robinson allegedly added the thread’s only negative comment, writing, “That’s sum ole sick a** f**got bulls**t!”

When presented with its trove of evidence about his past comments, Robinson told CNN, “This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me. I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”

In a subsequent video published to X, Robinson said, “The news media is at it again, and my opponent is at it again. Now a story leaked by [Democrat Josh Stein] to CNN is appearing now…. The things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson.”

The Carolina Journal has reported that Robinson is under pressure from the campaign for former President Donald Trump campaign to withdraw from the governor’s race over worries that he may drag down support for other Republicans on the ballot. Robinson has said he’s not dropping out.

Robinson has also said that he considers LGBTQ+ people as “filthy” “demons” who “mentally rape” children. Among his many anti-LGBTQ+ statements, he has called homosexuality “an abominable sin,” has compared LGBTQ+ people to cow dung, and Satanic demons, and said trans people should defecate on public street corners outside rather than using bathrooms matching their gender identity. He has also made numerous racist and antisemitic comments. He also wrote on social media, later adding, “Note to liberals; I’ll accept ‘Gay Pride’ when you accept ‘White Pride.’”

He has also made comments denying the Holocaust and said that abortions are only for women who cannot keep their skirts on.
