Rumors have been swirling about a major deal between streaming platform Kick and social media personality Hailey Welch, known as the Hawk Tuah girl. Speculation spread quickly online. However, Kick co-founder Ed Craven has addressed the truth behind these viral claims.

Here is what Craven has to say about the contract rumors.

Kick co-founder debunks Hailey Welch Kick rumors

Kick co-founder Ed Craven recently addressed widespread rumors surrounding the platform’s alleged $5 million contract with Hailey Welch, famously known as the Hawk Tuah girl.

The speculation began circulating on October 11, when KickStreamsLive, a popular Twitter account claimed that Welch had secured a deal with the streaming platform after her debut on Kick. Welch had live-streamed a ‘Meet and Greet’ at Dreamhack Atlanta on October 5, which led many to believe that Kick had offered her the lucrative contract.

The post quickly gained traction, with many users accepting the claim as fact, despite no official sources being cited. Craven responded to the claim and firmly denied it. In a post on X, he wrote, “This is not true.”

The rumors surrounding Hailey Welch weren’t the only ones that surfaced around this time. Another viral rumor alleged that Kick had signed a $2 million contract with the controversial comedian Charleston White. White. On October 11, an X (formerly Twitter) user known as TheKickJoker shared a post questioning Kick’s decision to work with individuals like White. He wrote, “We are in the arc of partnering convicts and felons…. I hope sources got this wrong. First, the dude in the boat, now this guy?”

Ed Craven quickly shut down this rumor as well, clarifying that Kick had not signed any new deals recently and had instead shifted to the KCIP (Kick Creator Incentive Program) model. Craven stated, “Anything else you’ve heard is mostly noise, clickbait, or third parties offering their own ‘deals’ independently. I mentioned this shift a while back, and it’s been a huge success.”
