Fans Emotional After Zayn Malik Pays Tribute to Liam Payne

Singer Zayn Malik recently paid tribute to former One Direction member Liam Payne in the first show of his debut solo tour, Stairway to the Sky. Liam Payne passed away tragically after taking a fatal fall from the balcony of the CasaSur hotel in Argentina on October 16. This loss led to fans going into a state of shock, with many coming together worldwide to build memorials for the singer.

Zayn Malik was recently present in Leeds, England, at the O2 Academy, where he held his first show since Payne’s death. While the singer entertained fans with exceptional singing skills and tunes, he also took a moment toward the end of the show to remember Liam Payne.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, before Zayn Malik took to the stage to perform his last song for the night, the screen showcased a tribute message for Payne, which read, “Liam Payne 1993-2024 Love you bro.” The message was accompanied by Malik’s song “Stardust” which is a part of his album, Room Under the Stairs.

Reacting to this gesture by Malik, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “This is so wholesome but sad at the same time.” Another user posted, “Couldn’t stop crying through the live!! Heart is heavy!!”

Previously, Malik had postponed the U.S. leg of his tour, following Payne’s passing. He wrote in a statement that he posted on his Instagram Story, “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the U.S. leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour. The dates are being rescheduled for January, and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days.”

Malik was recently also present in London to be a part of Liam Payne’s funeral which took place on November 20, 2024.
