Netflix‘s new TV and movie releases for December 9-15 2024 include the films Maria and Carry-On.

December 11 will bring Maria to Netflix. This musical drama biopic film follows Maria Callas, the world’s greatest opera singer during her final days in 1970s Paris, where she struggles with her identity and life. Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie plays the lead character. Supporting cast members include Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Stephen Ashfield, and Caspar Phillipson.

Then December 13 will see the release of Carry-On starring Taron Egerton. This is a thriller following a TSA agent who begins a cat-and-mouse game with a mysterious traveler attempting to threaten him into letting a dangerous item pass through scanners and enter a Christmas Eve flight. Supporting cast members include Jason Bateman, Sofia Carson, Dean Norris, Danielle Deadwyler, Theo Rossi, and Logan Marshall-Green.

Also releasing on Netflix this week is the Norwegian drama La Palma.

La Palma centers around a Norwegian family who check into a hotel situated in La Palma for the holidays. Unfortunately, their festive spirit soon becomes intense panic when a researcher learns that the volcano at La Palma could erupt and cause a gigantic tsunami.
