Brent Maher is the head songwriter and producer of Night Of The Opera Train – A Musical Novel, and it’s a unique audiobook release with twenty-one music tracks speckled throughout the story about the orphans that got carted off to every state from New York City in the late 1800’s to early 1920’s. The tracks are all substantially good, and all written and co-written and produced by Mahar, the narrator of the audiobook itself, the award-winning Nashville songwriter and producer who went to the National Orphan Train Complex in Concordia, Kansas, where the seeds of the inspiration for the release were planted.
November is Orphan Awareness month, so it’s the right time to partake in this well told story Brent Maher makes all his own with three fictional characters to focus it around, and three videos to add some visual effect and help entice the story for more interest, directed by Roger Pistole. And to top it off on the business end, a percentage of the proceeds go to the Youth Villages of Middle TN. Night Of The Opera Train – A Musical Novel is an audiobook worthy of countless listens between the story and songs, on the cinematic level with the three videos added.
“The Haves and Have Nots” video and song is the ultimate compliment to Night Of The Opera Train – A Musical Novel, as it serves to take the cake for me, without selling any of the rest of the longform release short. The song itself is a top notch written and arranged number by the French Family Band, with voices to literally die for, withstanding there is much more to go around because 21 songs make it a prolific work Maher can be proud of in a big way as it achieves another kind of music release altogether.
The audiobook, distributed by ONE Audiobooks via Moraine Music Group, is extremely well narrated by Maher, and the tracks are placed within their zones to pertain help enjoy the story and make it an overall grand experience, albeit in longform. It’s something anyone can relate to as long as they have the time to take it in. This can be done on long driving trips which audiobooks are always good for, or any book club gathering or just for personal downtime. “Orphan Train” song and video features Trey Hensley, Tammy Rogers and Marc Rogers, in another video worth checking out, with or without the audiobook.

Another song (and video) made for Night Of The Opera Train – A musical Novel, is “I Will Hold You In My Heart” with Brooke Spencer and Sarah Hollbrook, and it’s another winner I can see cleaning up at film festivals and songwriting award organizations. These songs (and videos) all merit on that same level, as does the story and the audiobook as a release itself. You don’t get this every day, it will even take audiobook lovers to task with the music added, and vice versa for storytelling by Brent Maher with all the best of intentions concerning the product and National Orphan Awareness Month.
