What critics are saying about The Terror Season 3 in reviews

The Terror: Devil in Silver premieres May 7 on AMC+ and Shudder with unanimous critical praise. Dan Stevens stars as Pepper, a man wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. Victor LaValle created the six-episode limited series based on his 2012 novel.

Keith Phipps of TV Guide gave the season 7.8 out of 10 stars. Phipps wrote that the series “benefits greatly from Dan Stevens’ intense performance.” Daniel Fienberg of The Hollywood Reporter called it “a simmering cauldron of spooky, disturbing elements.”

Daniel Kurland of Bloody Disgusting awarded the season 4 out of 5 stars. Kelcie Mattson of Collider scored Devil in Silver 7 out of 10. Mattson called it “a disquieting, philosophical dissection of human nature.” Sarah Musnicky of But Why Tho? gave it 7.5 out of 10 stars. Jean Henegan of Pop Culture Maniacs scored the season 3.5 out of 5. Henegan confirmed the season works, calling it “creepy” and “well acted.”

The Terror Season 3 gets scary good score on Rotten Tomatoes

Meanwhile, Devil in Silver holds a perfect 100% Tomatometer score from six critic reviews. Specifically, all six reviewers gave the limited series a Fresh rating on the platform. However, no audience score exists yet as the season has not premiered.

Karyn Kusama directed the first two episodes of the limited series. Meanwhile, the cast also includes CCH Pounder, Chinaza Uche, Hampton Fluker, and Aasif Mandvi. Notably, Devil in Silver marks The Terror’s return after a long hiatus following Season 2 in 2019.

AMC originally renewed the anthology series for a third season in February 2024. As a result, the season will air weekly on AMC+ and Shudder through June 11. Additionally, AMC will broadcast the season on its linear channel later in 2026.
