A follow-up to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on Disney+ has become a massive streaming success within days of its launch. The Punisher: One Last Kill has quickly climbed to the top of multiple charts, beating out other titles on the platform. The MCU television special follows the gun-toting vigilante, who finds himself targeted by multiple criminals when a crime lord puts a bounty on him in revenge for the former killing the latter’s loved ones.

The Punisher: One Last Kill tops multiple Disney+ charts

As of May 15, The Punisher: One Last Kill is the #1 title on Disney+, both in the United States and internationally, as per FlixPatrol. Accordingly, it beats other MCU titles present in the top 10 lists.

In the overall section, it beats Daredevil: Born Again, placed at #6, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, resting at #8 as of writing.

Meanwhile, when considering movies alone, One Last Kill surpasses No Way Home (#4) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (#7). Finally, in international markets, as of May 14, it surpasses two Avengers films — Endgame (#5) and Infinity War (#9).

The special premiered on May 12, 2026, one week after the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale aired. It has garnered a primarily positive reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a “certified fresh” 76% approval rating and an 87% audience score. These are higher than those of the original Netflix series, which display a fresh 64% critical and a 79% audience score.

“As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight,” the official story overview reads.

Reinaldo Marcus Green directed the special from a script he co-wrote with Jon Bernthal, who reprises his role as Frank Castle a.k.a Punisher. The pair also serves as executive producers alongside Sana Amanat, Louis D’Esposito, Kevin Feige, and Brad Winderbaum.

Bernthal’s Punisher will next appear in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which swings into theaters on July 31. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando.
