Mo Gilligan is making his documentary debut on Netflix with Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy. The doc follows Gilligan diving deep into the “global fried chicken obsession” by eating fried chicken three times a day for 28 days straight.
Per Netflix, Big Chicken “encourages Mo to reckon with the unsettling realities behind his favourite takeaway, sparking greater curiosity about the origins of our food and a more informed approach to the choices we make about what we eat.”
And while this might be his first foray into documentaries, Gilligan is no stranger to the entertainment industry. Below, we rounded up more to know about the British star.
Who is Mo Gilligan?
Gilligan is a British stand-up comedian and television presenter. He got his start by posting comedy videos to social media and went viral after being recognized by Drake.
Gilligan began his television career as rapper Big Narstie’s sidekick on The Big Narstie Show, which aired on Channel 4 in the U.K. from 2018 to 2022. In 2019, he began hosting The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, a late-night show that aired on Friday nights. It was canceled in 2023, but Gilligan won the British Academy Television Award for Best Entertainment Performance in 2020 for his work on the series.
Since 2020, Gilligan has served as a panelist on the U.K.’s version of The Masked Singer. He also worked on Season 1 of U.K.’s The Masked Dancer in 2021.
Additionally, he tours his stand-up act and hosts two podcasts. He also created Momo G Productions, a production company that develops “multi-platform shows.”
Is Mo Gilligan married?
No, Gilligan is not married, but he is engaged to Brazilian model Taia Tulher. The Sun confirmed news of the pair’s engagement after two years together in August 2025.

Gilligan previously had a brief romance with model Selina Christoforou in 2023. He also dated actress Sophie Wise for about four years before their 2022 split, per The Sun.
Does Mo Gilligan have kids?
Yes, Gilligan is a father to two children. He shares a child with Tulher who was born in 2025. Gilligan proposed to his bride-to-be while she was pregnant. News of their child’s birth was first reported in September.
He and Christoforou also share a son, Rudy, born in January 2024. Gilligan did not publicly reveal he had a son until more than a year later when he posted a video on his Instagram Story of them together with audio of Drake rapping, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world, I was hidin’ the world from my kid.”
Prior to Gilligan’s confirmation, Chistoforou publicly accused him of being an absent father. When news of Tulher’s pregnancy broke, Chistoforou said, “Could you not just look after the one you’ve got. Try and be a dad before you have another one.”
Per The Sun, Gilligan responded by saying in a comedy routine, “He’s a very lovely boy. A very, very lovely boy and despite whatever you see on social media, his mum is a good mum. I’m not here to disrespect. That’s the mother of my child. And I would never disrespect her publicly because she’s raising my son. He’s very polite. He’s very kind, he’s very loving.”
