PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie took a bite out of The End of Oak Street‘s box office after the two films went up against each other for the second consecutive weekend. The animated children’s movie overtook the recent Warner Bros. Pictures release, which has faced stiff competition at the box office from massive summer hits like Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The End of Oak Street loses to Paw Patrol at box office
According to Box Office Mojo, Paramount Pictures’ animated film earned an estimated $9.1 million in North America between August 21 and 23, 2026. It has narrowly surpassed the approximately $9 million earned by Warner Bros.’ The End of Oak Street. The result gives PAW Patrol the stronger second weekend despite The End of Oak Street having opened slightly higher domestically.
The two films had a close start. The End of Oak Street opened to $21.01 million from 3,446 theaters in the United States and Canada between August 14 and 16. PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie followed with $20.25 million, leaving the thriller with a relatively small opening-weekend advantage. The domestic gap was small, but the animated film had already generated a substantially larger worldwide total.
After two weekends, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie has collected $35.41 million domestically and $103.41 million worldwide. The End of Oak Street has earned $37.97 million in North America and $85.97 million globally. Now, by its second weekend, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie had moved ahead of The End of Oak Street both domestically and worldwide. The animated film also holds a $17.4 million lead in the global box office race.
The difference in production costs also gives PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie a stronger financial position. The animated film was made for a reported $40 million and has already crossed the $100 million mark worldwide within 10 days of release.
The franchise has previously delivered substantial theatrical returns on comparatively small budgets. PAW Patrol: The Movie earned $144 million worldwide in 2021. The 2023 sequel, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, finished with more than $205 million globally.
