Big Brother reached a milestone no primetime TV show has ever reached — 1,000 original episodes — so it called for a big celebration. The CBS show achieved two Guinness World Records on August 27, and the cast, crew, and alums reunited to celebrate.
The Thursday episode still saw the BB Blockbuster and eviction, like normal, with Drew Campbell winning the Blockbuster and Mallory Aurichio being evicted six to two.
But this time, the episode opened with clips from the past 27 seasons. Host Julie Chen Moonves took fans through the best moments, showmances, and more. Past players from all different seasons sat in the audience, and some even came on stage to accept fan-voted awards.
Chen Moonves accepted two Guinness World Records for the first primetime show to reach 1,000 episodes and the first competition reality show to reach 1,000 episodes.
The end of the night kicked off the biggest twist of the season. Four alumni — Britney Haynes, Keanu Soto, Tiffany Mitchell, and Cody Calafiore — arrived in the backyard in medieval outfits, taking Houseguests back in time to the year 1000.
They will kick off the twist, which Chen Moonves said will have no HOH, no Power of Veto, and no Blockbuster. One Houseguest will leave this week, though.
Before things get crazy inside the house, see what went down outside of the house. The beloved reality competition marked the historic occasion with a red carpet reception at the storied Radford Studio Center lot.
