General Hospital fans are convinced a major recast is coming — and they think it could be either Jerry Jacks, most recently played by Sebastian Roché., or Jasper “Jax” Jacks, most recently played by Ingo Rademacher.
In a recent episode of Steve Burton‘s (Jason Morgan) That’s Awesome podcast, Burton revealed that he had been working with a new male cast member.
“So, there’s a guy on the show right now who came on the show, and you guys will see him,” he told his co-host, Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli). “But I had some scenes with him — and I can’t say what it is yet — but I said, ‘Do you know exactly what’s happening?’”
Burton explained that the history of Port Charles was key in a scene he filmed with his new costar and should influence his “decision-making in the scene.”
He recalled asking the mystery actor, “Do you know exactly what’s happening?” to which he replied, per Burton, “I don’t really know what’s really happened, but I do create the backstory myself.”
Burton also teased, “He’s been an actor for a long, long time. He’s been on some primetime shows. He’s done this a long time. So I said, ‘Do you mind if I just tell you kind of, you know, what this is, who this is, why they’re doing it, and what the involvement for me is?’ And he goes, ‘No, I would love to.’”

Although Burton didn’t share the actor’s name, General Hospital fans couldn’t help but speculate about a recasting on social media. A popular theory was that it was either Jerry or Jasper (“Jax”), given that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is taking over as CEO of Jasper Jacks Enterprise, as well as a bunch of recent Australian references on the soap (the Jacks brothers are Australian).
One X user declared in the comments of a clip from the podcast, “Jerry Jax is my guess, as another agreed, “Jerry Jacks.”
A third echoed, “It’s someone who can provide even more airtime for the current small group of actors who get story after story. That includes Eden M. and Laura W. So of course it’s Jerry Jax.”
Another X user guessed, “Probably going to be Jax recasted because we keep hearing him mentioned.”
Someone shared, “My guess is Jax. Hopefully not Jerry. Sebastian Roché or bust.”
A different X user speculated, “Like many, I’m thinking Jax. With Joss’s new story, Maxie’s family moving there, the new doctor, etc., they are bringing the Australian connection to the forefront these days. And it could possibly be related to Jason and Sonny getting out of ‘the business.’”
Meanwhile, yet another fan commented, “It’s gonna be Jax, but will always hope for a Morgan Corinthos return.”
Josslyn’s father, Jasper, was last played by Rademacher in 2021. Meanwhile, her uncle, Jerry, was last played by Roché in 2015.
