Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice reported that Bartiromo and Weiss have discussed the possibility of working together. One television insider told the outlet, “Maria and Bari have already spoken. Maria isn’t sitting around licking her wounds. She’s moving fast, and 60 Minutes is absolutely in the mix.”
The same source claimed that Bartiromo is determined to maintain a prominent position in the industry following her Fox News exit. “Maria brings something Bari understands is valuable: access,” the insider said. The source also said Bartiromo wants to remain “a major player” in television.
The reported CBS discussions come shortly after Fox News Media announced Bartiromo’s departure on September 3, 2026. The network said in its statement, “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media. We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.” Fox later characterized the decision as a “business decision” but did not publicly explain the reason behind separation.
