A school board meeting in Davis, California, descended into chaos Thursday night with the appearance of Beth Bourne, president of the local Moms for Liberty chapter and a candidate for school board trustee in November.
Her reputation preceded her. As Bourne approached the lectern for public comment — shouting about “healthy, whole women!” — scores of district-area teachers got up from their seats and walked out of the meeting.

Bourne went ballistic.
“Ask those teachers to stop interrupting my comment!” she shouted at the meeting chair. “I want my time back! I want my time back!”

“Bulls**t!” shouted one of the attendees at the activist.
Bourne, inexplicably dressed in a trans flag tank top, dove into the departing crowd behind her and ranted.
“You are a bunch of cowards! You are a bunch of weak, stupid, brainwashed liberals! You are a bunch of f**king idiots! You are hurting these children!” she yelled.
“Address the board!” came a call from the chair.
“This is insane!” Bourne yelled.
“Public comment is over,” the chair informed the board, before Bourne overrode him and returned to the mic to deliver an unhinged monologue about the evils of LGBTQ+ content in books.
“A book like Jazz Jennings in our elementary school teaches a boy that because he likes dresses, he might be a trans woman!” Bourne shouted. “He had his penis removed at 16 years old on national television!”
“You have books in kindergarten teaching kids about pronouns, about letting the boys use the girls’ bathroom,” she screamed. “Caitlyn Jenner is Bruce Jenner! He got aroused when he wore his daughter’s underwear, and he is the trans woman poster child in the Davis schools!” she shouted at the emptying room.
“Look up your kids’ health class! This book teaches girls that breast binders will save your life!” she continued.
Bourne persisted, even as she gasped for breath, turning her ire on school officials in the audience.
“Why is there this picture, Matt Best, of a young girl with extreme self-harm, extreme cutting on the front cover? She has her breasts amputated!” Citing another example of a genderfluid person, Bourne screamed, “Look at her! She’s fat! She’s overweight! Unhappy! She’s not a man. She’s a girl!”
Her time was finally up.
“Hey, have a great day, everybody,” Bourne waved, collecting her pile of “gender ideology.”
It’s not the first time Bourne has made a spectacle of herself. A year ago at the same Davis Joint Unified School District forum, Bourne stripped down to her underwear to make a point about trans girls using bathrooms that align with their gender.
“This is allowed!” Bourne shouted as a board member protested her stunt.
Bourne’s undressing inspired a similar rash of protests at other contentious school board meetings across the country. The former University of California staffer’s virulent activism began several years ago following her own daughter’s transition.
In October 2023, the same school district that Bourne is now campaigning to help lead filed for a temporary restraining order against her following bomb threats to local schools, libraries, and the homes of district teachers. Bourne reportedly shared dozens of social media posts about Davis schools that doxed the educators.
“I am not sharing anything that is not available to the public,” Bourne said at the time.
Thursday’s school board meltdown followed another court order against Bourne, issued on Wednesday, when a judge demanded she take down videos posted to social media that put minors in danger. The action was related to yet another restraining order against her, which she allegedly violated this summer. She faces an arraignment on those charges in October.
Among the activist’s other greatest hits is a viral spectacle that was captured at a luxury hotel in Hawaii in 2024.
“Call the police!” Bourne shouted at the hotel manager at the sight of three drag queens in the lobby.
