Two of Adam Sandler’s biggest crowd-pleasers are changing platforms just as the franchise gears up for its next one, giving longtime fans and newcomers a chance to revisit the original comedies before the third film releases.
Hulu will stream Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups movies next month
Hulu will add Grown Ups (2010) and Grown Ups 2 (2013) to its library on October 1. Spanish-language versions of both films will join them on the same date. The change puts the first two entries in the Grown Up series in one place while the third one moves through production. Netflix announced Part 3 in May 2026, and the streamer confirmed in August that cameras are rolling in New Jersey.
Kyle Newacheck, who directed Happy Gilmore 2, will direct Grown Ups 3 from a script by Adam Sandler and longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy. Netflix is producing the film in partnership with Sony Pictures. Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Salma Hayek are all reprising their roles. Julie Bowen, Deon Cole, and Bailee Madison join the franchise as newcomers. Netflix has not shared plot details or a release date. The official logline hints at the tone: “Now that their kids are all grown up, the gang is finally free to go on the ultimate adventure.”
The first Grown Ups followed five childhood friends who reunite for a July 4 weekend with their wives and kids. Sony released it in theaters in June 2010, and it grossed more than $270 million worldwide. Grown Ups 2 followed in 2013, bringing the friends together again when Sandler’s character, Lenny, moves back to their hometown. Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner, and Patrick Schwarzenegger joined the cast for that one. Critics panned both films, but audiences turned out, and the sequel earned more than $245 million worldwide.
For fans planning a rewatch before Grown Ups 3 lands, both movies will be ready to stream on Hulu from the first of the month.
