What To Know
- Donald Trump criticized Fox News on Truth Social for giving significant airtime to Democratic figures.
- He accused the “fake news media” of refusing to report his administration’s achievements.
- The president has intensified personal attacks on Fox News personalities like Jessica Tarlov and Shannon Bream.
Donald Trump‘s love affair with Fox News appears to be over after the president slammed the network Wednesday (September 30) on Truth Social, claiming that “real patriots” will never support it.
“Why does FoxNews always put Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Jessica Tarlov, and every Democrat on, saying bad things about the Republican Party and, of course, me?” the president wrote on Truth Social. “I actually think they get more airtime than Pro Republicans.”
He continued, “This is why MAGA, and REAL Patriots, will never like Fox! They repeat a completely negative narrative, on and on it goes, and then we get a quick retort.”
“It’s truly amazing that I won all three Elections,” Trump added, repeating the false claim that he won the 2020 presidential election against Joe Biden. “The opposition is enormous, but the fight goes on!”
The president continued to lash out at the “fake news media” in a separate post, writing, “Our Nation is doing really well, in many ways, better than ever before, but the Public just doesn’t know how well we’re doing. The Fake News Media refuses to disseminate our Record Setting Numbers, so I’m doing the best I can to do it myself!”
Trump has increased his attacks on Fox News in recent months, with particular focus on Tarlov, who serves as the lone liberal commentator on The Five. “For Fox executives only, take Jessica Tarlov off the air,” he wrote back in April.
He added, “She is, from her voice, to her lies, and everything else about her, one of the worst “personalities” on television, a real loser! People cannot stand watching her. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Tarlov addressed Trump’s comments when appearing on Pod Save America last week, saying, “Why is this man not busier? There are better things to do.”
Trump has also insulted Fox News anchor Shannon Bream, claiming that her friends call her “milktoast.” Back in August, he said Bream’s show is “so biased against MAGA, ‘TRUMP,’ and Republicans, that it is ridiculous!,” adding, “Even Chris Wallace was better, and he was really bad.”
