At New York Comic Con, AMC confirmed that the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere in February 2027, narrowing down the previously announced 2027 release window. The news came alongside a new teaser trailer and never-before-seen footage unveiled during a panel featuring stars and executive producers Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, showrunner David Zabel, and executive producer Scott M. Gimple.
The panel also celebrated the 15-year journey of fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, who are preparing for one final adventure together.
The final season finds Daryl and Carol crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain as they hold onto hope — and each other — while uncertainty about their future grows. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jimmy Smits will join the cast this season as Captain Alejandro Perkins, a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who has found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.

When does The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 premiere?
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will return for its final season in February 2027 on AMC and AMC+.
The Season 3 finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City aired on September 13 on AMC.
Where is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 4 set?
Daryl started the series in France, where his long-awaited reunion with Carol eventually took place. Their attempt to get back home to America took them to London and Spain in Season 3. Season 4 is set in Spain.
Creator David Zabel told Collider in 2024 that the Season 3 plot will carry over into Season 4, just like with Seasons 1 and 2.

Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride return as Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, with Jimmy Smits joining the cast as Captain Alejandro Perkins.
Perkins is described as a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who has found a “unique way to thrive” in the apocalypse. The teaser offers the first glimpse of Smits in the role as Daryl and Carol make their way across the devastated landscape of Spain.
Smits, best known for roles on NYPD Blue and The West Wing, joins a cast that also includes Romain Levi, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués.
