There’s a new thriller heading to MGM+. The streamer acquired the domestic distribution rights to Secret Service, a U.K.-based espionage thriller that adapts Tom Bradby‘s novel of the same name.

What is Secret Service about?
The series’ official description tells us, “Secret Service follows senior MI6 officer Kate Henderson as a covert investigation uncovers evidence that a high-ranking U.K. politician may be working as a Russian asset. With trust shattered and her career on the line, Kate must navigate the shifting sands of political loyalty, international threat, and personal sacrifice as she races to uncover their identity before it’s too late.”
Who stars in Secret Service?
Starring as Kate Henderson is Gemma Arterton. Also starring in the series are Rafe Spall as Stuart, Aoife Hinds as Julie, Amaka Okafor as Imogen, Avi Nash as Rav, along with Alex Kingston, Mark Stanley, Roger Allam, Alma Prelec, and Khalid Abdalla.
It’s adapted by author Tom Bradby alongside Jemma Kennedy and directed by James Marsh and Farren Blackburn. Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood executive produce alongside Bradby and Chloe Sizer.

What else is there to know about Secret Service?
The series adapts the Bradby novel of the same name, leaving open the possibility of more seasons, as it’s just the first in the Kate Henderson Thrillers series (followed by Double Agent and Triple Cross).
When does Secret Service premiere?
MGM+ has not announced that the series premieres on Sunday, November 22, at 10/9c, for audiences in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Italy.
The series first premiered at the Italian Global Series Festival, at which Spall won Best Lead Actor (Drama). Meanwhile, Kingston won Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series at the National Film Awards. The show then launched on ITV1 in the U.K. and has earned 3.9 million viewers for its first episode.
