Video of a couple getting engaged at a Pride-themed race in New York City is warming hearts across social media.
Chris Siretz dropped to one knee at the finish line of the annual Front Runners New York LGBTQ+ Pride Run 4-Miler on June 27, proposing to longtime partner Omar Merced while the pair were dressed in coordinated Toy Story outfits (Siretz as Buzz Lightyear and Merced as Woody).

“I love you so much,” Siretz says in the video after the pair crosses the finish line. “Keep running with me?” At that, he pulls out a ring and gets on one knee. Merced begins to cry and emphatically nods yes. The pair share a kiss and then celebrate with the cheering crowd.
“Five years ago, Omar invited Chris—who didn’t consider himself a runner—to run the Pride Run together because it would ‘mean the world to him,’” the post, shared by Front Runners, explained in the caption. “Chris agreed.”

“With the race now being an annual tradition in their relationship—complete with coordinated outfits—Chris surprised Omar with a proposal at the finish line today. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness and miles together. Send some infinity and beyond love to the newly engaged.”
The post has received over 57,000 likes, more than 750 shares, and almost 1000 comments.
“Crying!! This is beautiful!” one person wrote.
“Oh my gosh literally my dream type of proposal, at a race finish line!” wrote another. “How precious is this!!!!”

The couple, themselves, also posted the video. Siretz wrote, “My favorite running partner said ✨yes✨ to going the distance! Racking up the miles with you as my future husband is going to be the best race yet and I can’t wait to sprint down the aisle with you!”
