Donald Trump tried to make fun of Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) by comparing him to Peewee Herman, but it turns out that Trump couldn’t even remember Peewee Herman’s name.

“Your terrible senator, Jon Ossoff, he’s terrible,” Trump said at a rally in Marietta, Georgia, as the MAGA crowd dutifully booed Ossoff. “And the Democrats, in Congress, are voting with the Communists every single time.”

“I fought Ossoff before, as you know. We won. We had great success against this guy,” Trump continued.

“He reminds me of Pinky Herman. Did you ever see Pinky Herman?”

It’s unclear exactly what Trump was referring to when he said that he had “great success” against Ossoff, since Trump himself never ran against Ossoff. He might be referring to a 2017 special election for Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District where Ossoff lost 48-52 against Republican Karen Handel, who was endorsed by Trump. Handel lost her seat the next year.

Ossoff is up for reelection this year.

Trump has a history of mocking political opponents’ looks. But it might not work against Ossoff, who is often cited as one of the best-looking members of Congress.

Trump was mocked online.
