Comedy (‘Colin From Accounts’) & Sports (NFL) in Australia, Mutiny on the Enterprise, ‘Adults’ Bedroom Farce, ‘Mormon Wives’

With tart wit and a big heart, the delicious rom-com from Down Under returns for a third and final season, taking a merciful three-year time jump from the ill-timed proposal by brew-pub owner Gordon (Patrick Brammall) to quirky doctor Ashley (Harriet Dyer, Brammall’s real-life wife). She moved on, he hit the skids, and now that she’s back in Sydney (though it took six months for them to reconnect), the question looms: Can they be mates? They still share custody of the disabled dog Colin, who brought them together, but with new romantic partners creating new hurdles, it will take eight painfully funny episodes to deliver the appropriately messy happily-ever-after we expect from this genre.

Look what else has found its way to Australia. For the first time ever, two pro teams are playing a regular-season game across the wide Pacific pond in Melbourne, with a Week 1 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. (In local time, the game starts at 10:35 am on Friday.) Noah Eagle provides the play-by-play with game analyst Luke Kuechly and sideline reporter MJ Acosta.

There’s trouble on the bridge of the Enterprise in a taut episode featuring Scandal‘s Joe Morton as the authoritarian Admiral Simon Reeger. In pursuit of a cloaked enemy vessel, the celebrated officer boards and takes command of the starship while Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and first officer Una (Rebecca Romijn) are out of range on an away mission. Making a visiting James Kirk (Paul Wesley) his acting first officer in their absence, Reeger sets course for a clash of authority when he orders extreme tactics that don’t mesh with Kirk’s more measured approach. “The middle ground is where most people die,” growls the admiral, whose history with Kirk’s father comes into focus as battle lines are drawn.

Sharing a house can make for some strange bedfellows, and that’s the case when the roomies in this raucous sitcom decide to switch bedrooms, causing some lack-of-privacy discomfort for Samir (Malik Elassal) and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen). But for Billie (Lucy Freyer) and Issa (Amita Rao), it’s an opportunity for the single girls to bond again and go on the prowl. Saturday Night Live‘s Ben Marshall guest-stars. In the second episode, Samir’s girlfriend Carly (Rachel Marsh) makes a drastically sudden life decision after listening to Anton’s (Owen Thiele) flip advice. Will they never learn? A reminder: The entire second season can be streamed on Hulu.

Not so secret anymore, is it? The ladies of #MomTok are back for a truncated fifth season of only five episodes, the cast and production in damage control after pausing filming following the abrupt termination of Taylor Frankie Paul‘s season of The Bachelorette. (A leaked video of her attacking her ex-boyfriend led ABC to pull the show.) In happier news, Whitney Leavitt is a hit on Broadway, joining the cast of Chicago and spiking sales. And so begins another object lesson in the price and perils of fame and infamy on reality TV.

• A Killer Story (9/8c, HBO): A three-part docuseries filmed over six years explores the twisted case of Dana Chandler, who was tried three times for the 2002 murders in Kansas of her ex-husband and girlfriend. Her story became an obsession for true-crime followers Eileen and Keen Umbehr, who enlisted investigative journalist Joe Sexton in their long crusade for justice.
• CBS Fall First Look 2026 (9/8c, CBS): The network previews its new and returning fall series, including the very promising Cupertino.
• 9/11 Remembered: 25 Years Later (9/8c, The CW): On the eve of the terrorist attacks that changed America and the world, a special reflects on the loss but also the resilience of a country united in mourning.
• Project Runway (10/9c, Freeform): The finalists prepare capsule collections for the runway in the Season 22 finale, with Italian designer Fausto Puglisi as guest judge.

• Call My Agent! The Movie (streaming on Netflix): The French comedy returns for a standalone film reuniting the Parisian ASK talent-agency team after five years, when Andréa’s (Camille Cottin) first feature-film directing gig goes sideways, and she turns to Noémie (Laure Calamy) and their former colleagues for help.
• Crew Girl (streaming on Netflix): Miku Martineau stars in a YA romantic drama as Teagan, an accomplished rower who, after a family setback, moves East and becomes coxswain for her new prep school’s all-male varsity rowing crew. Is there room in the boat for a love triangle?
• Cooper and Fry (streaming on BritBox): Downton Abbey‘s Robert James-Collier is DC Ben Cooper, solving crimes with partner DC Diane Fry (Mandip Gill) in England’s Peak District in a crime drama adapted from Stephen Booth’s novel series.
• Supergirl (streaming on HBO Max): Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) is Kara Zor-El, cousin of Superman (David Corenswet), in the DC superhero adventure making its streaming debut. The film debuts on HBO Saturday at 8/7c.
