A statue of the late anti-LGBTQ+ MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk was vandalized barely three days after its display outside the Phoenix, Arizona headquarters of his young conservative organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA). It was displayed on September 10, the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s infamous public murder by a sniper’s bullet.
The 8-foot statue – which depicts Kirk waving his right hand, holding a cap in his left hand, and wearing a T-shirt with the word “freedom” on it – was vandalized with red spray paint. The vandal drew a sad face on Kirk’s T-shirt and sprayed paint on his left hand and on the left side of his neck, where a sniper’s bullet entered, killing him during the first stop of his American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University last year.

In a statement via X, TPUSA called the vandalism “diabolical” and said it’s “working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable.” The statement included two images showing that the vandal also spray-painted Xs on Kirk’s face, both on both the statue and a nearby vinyl sign bearing his likeness. The perpetrator also spray-painted over the word “Jesus” on the sign.
A pro-Trump Italian artist Sergio Furnari displayed his statue of MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk in New York City’s Times Square on September 10. Despite predictions that it would be quickly vandalized, Furnari avoided this by displaying it from the back of a moving truck instead of installing it in a fixed public location.
Kirk called the 1964 Civil Rights Act a “huge mistake,” called civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. “awful,” referred to a Bible passage about executing gay people as “God’s perfect law,” and said the 2nd Amendment is worth the cost of “some gun deaths.”
He also said Islam is a sword “to slit the throat of America,” that he would force his 10-year-old daughter to have her rapist’s child, and that every gender-affirming doctor should be placed on trial for war crimes.
