A gay couple’s decades-long love story has gone viral after being featured on the popular social media account @meetcutesnyc.

The couple, Allen and Tony, were featured in an on-the-street interview in which they shared that they’ve been together for 53 years, having met on a tennis court in 1973.

Asked their first impressions of each other, Allen said, “Hot. Totally.” Tony joked, “Not good. I thought I was wasting my time, and I still haven’t decided.”

“How’d you go from tennis to dating?” the interviewer asked.

“You’re asking a gay couple that?” Allen joked, saying he’d just leave it at, “My eye wasn’t on the ball.” He said that his favorite thing about Tony was “his good heart,” adding that “it’s his best organ.”

Tony said he loved that Allen is “consistent, no waves.”

Allen then shared advice to those in budding relationships. “Care more about the other person than you do about yourself,” he said.

The pair then left the interview holding hands as they walked down the sidewalk.

Comments on the post gushed over the couple’s love, including from some celebrities.

“We should all be so lucky,” wrote actress Elaine Hendrix. Her Parent Trap costar Lisa Ann Walter replied with three heart emojis, and Broadway star Kristen Chenoweth replied with a crying emoji.

One wrote, “Hold hands forever, you are gorgeous together.” And another said they were “UNDONEEEEE” by Allen’s comment that Tony’s heart is “his best organ.”

Some people begged the account to find the couple again and ask for throwback photos.

Another asked, “How could anyone ever be against a love like this?”
